Guest Speaker - Rev. Dr. Bruce Schuchard, Concordia Seminary - St. Louis
Dr. Bruce G. Schuchard is professor of Exegetical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He has been a faculty member since 1997. He previously served as dean of the Graduate School (2003-06), dean of Advanced Studies (2006-14), and Graduate School coordinator for international students (2014-15). His areas of interest and expertise include the works of John, including his Gospel, epistles and revelation, and the New Testament use of Old Testament Scripture. Before joining the Seminary, Schuchard served as pastor at St. James Lutheran Church in Victor, Iowa (1990-97).
He received his Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind. (1984, 1985). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric and oceanic science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (1979); and a Ph.D. from Union Seminary in Richmond, Va. (1991).
